A Kiss from the Past - Fado, Jazz and Baroque improvisations

    20:30

    Mixtree Amsterdam,

    Overtoom 301, 1054 HW Amsterdam

    A Kiss from the Past

A melting pot of Fado, Jazz and improvised baroque music from Portugal and Britian.

    Entrance: 3€

    Robert de Bree (recorder, oboe)
    James Hewitt (violin)
    Giulio Quirici (theorbo)

This programme is jam-packed with new directions we have been taking: stories from 17th century Britain, groovy grounds, an improvisation based on the Fandango Portugues by Domenico Scarlatti and new music by Portuguese jazz composer Nuno Torres Marques. Find out more about Fado as our inspiration and listen to a fragment of our interpretation of Nuno’s Nostalgia by clicking this link.
Of course there will still be the improvised baroque music we have been working on for over a decade.
In short, this is an improvised concert that whirls through time with old stories and dazzling music. Come and steal a kiss from time.

Feel free to bring your instrument and jam with us afterwards.
